I realized the other night that it's been such a long time since I've posted on my blog. So here goes.
This month has been CRAZY. It's the 31st and I literally don't know where it all went. Let me try to recount it all...
August 10-13: Staff Retreat: Lots of planning. I'm a detail-oriented person and I thrive off of having every single detail planned for an event. So this was great for me to even figure out that balance of having as many details as possible but also allowing the Lord to truly work. Allowing the Holy Spirit to take control and reign in and out of the details that we could plan. Also, sea kayaking. SO FUN!
August 14-18: More Planning, Time with the Lord: This was literally just finishing last minute details for Welcome Week and spending time with the Lord. It was great, but also so exhausting since I was also unpacking tons of boxes after moving into my new apartment. Many boxes are still unpacked... oops!
August 19: Shepherd Team Retreat: This was incredibly fun! Though I missed much of it because I was getting lunch for the retreat for like 90 minutes of the content, I loved getting to know others involved in the ministry here and really coming before the Lord for big things.
August 21-now: Welcome Back BBQ for returning students, packing FSKs (Freshmen Survival Kits), giving out 1000 FSKs on Sproul, ice cream social, pizza social, classes, first weekly meeting, carnival "party", and lots and lots of follow-up! I got the opportunity to follow-up with several girls and share the gospel with a few of them! I'm so encouraged by this, but this week was incredibly exhausting for me.
Things I learned or was reminded of this month...
~I'm an introvert, and being social non-stop is incredibly exhausting for me. It takes so much out of me despite my love for people!
~I thrive in one-on-one situations, and have difficulty in large groups
~I love ministry and love getting the opportunity to share Christ with others...but love it the most when I get to meet with international students (specifically those who have never heard the gospel before in their lives)
~I have a long ways to go in my heart growth for my campus and for the lost here... I need more compassion that comes only from the Lord Himself
This is my last year. Kind of unbelievable. It feels extremely surreal that I'm almost done with college, and I'm really not ready for it at all. Though I love the idea of being done with classes, I hate the idea of saying goodbye to friends for a short while...or maybe even a really long while. But, as much as I think about how sad I'll be when it's over, I also see that I have 1/4 of college left still! That's a year to invest in relationships, share Jesus with others, learn from world-renown professors, learn from other broken vessels, fall deeper in love with Jesus, and get to know more people. I'm desiring to really live in the light of this and trust God in this time of seeking Him for guidance for next year, guidance for this year, and guidance right now.

God Glorified Through Another's Life
I went to my first American memorial service on Saturday. I drove up on Thursday and got to spend a few days with the Marshall family and went back to Berkeley shortly after the service.
The service was beautiful, to say the least. A true celebration of Scott's life. His life touched so many people, and I will always remember him fondly.
It made me think a lot about life. I guess that's what these things do to people. I've known quite a few people who have recently been diagnosed with cancer or have been suffering from it. It truly scares me. It really does. What if I get cancer? What if one of my immediate family members gets cancer? What if one of my best friends gets cancer? You never really know how long your life will be. I pray that I will not live in fear. I pray that God would work in me in powerful ways, as he did in Scott's life before he was taken home. I pray that God would be glorified through my life, as He was in Scott's life before God brought him home. You never know. You never really do.

Praise
All praise be to the Lord who has provided 100% of my support! God literally brought in my support + 83 cents/month. He is SO INCREDIBLY GOOD. Again, I am so humbled by Him, my Father who is my provider. All praise to Christ and all glory to Him!
